Postcards4Zach started with one simple truth: Zach loves getting mail.

Zach lives with his mom, and one of his favorite things to do is check the mail. He does not let a day go by without looking. And most days, there is nothing in there for him — but on the rare days when something arrives with his name on it, it lights up his world.

For many of us, making new connections happens naturally. We meet people at work, through friends, at school, or in our communities. For Zach, those opportunities don't come as easily. Like many people with Down syndrome, building and maintaining new relationships can be more challenging—not because he doesn't want them, but because the world isn't always set up to make those connections happen.

This project was created to help Zach connect with people. By sending him a postcard, you are giving him more than mail. You are giving him excitement, community, and a small reminder that people everywhere are thinking of him.

All mail is received and reviewed by his sister first to make sure everything is safe, kind, and appropriate before it gets to Zach.

For now, Postcards4Zach is just for Zach. Someday, the hope is to grow this into a way for other people like Zach to receive postcards, connection, and joy from people all over the world too.
